I have an obsession with copper. I have trawled through Pinterest, scoured every interior shop for bedroom furniture and I spent a small fortune on some copper-lettered cards I found, that have done nothing other than sit on my dressing table looking pretty for four months. Pair a copper accessory with anything marble and it’s Christmas come early for me. But I digress.

You can imagine my sheer (and genuine) excitement then, when I was invited to the launch of the new GHD collection, out for Christmas. Copper coloured, the metallic shade transforms the exterior of the newest styler, the Platinum straightener, as well as decorating the heat-protective bags all the stylers come with.

Whilst the colour itself is the most exciting part of the collection launch (in my humble opinion), my inner suitcase-packing demon got a treat in the shape of the Flight Set, £49. Packing the powerful punch known to a GHD hairdryer, this limited edition dryer is half the size, sports copper accents and folds in half – meaning not only does it lift away several kilos from my routinely overweight luggage allowance, I can actually pack this in my handbag, if said allowance is failing me. Winning.

Now back to the star of the show, the GHD Platinum Styler premium gift set, £175. This set also comes with two co-ordinating Nails Inc nail polishes. Now, I’m not a huge fan of a metallic polish (I think Dot Cotton every time) but for those of you that like a touch of tinsel to your toes, then these two shades were designed exclusively for the collection launch and are really rather pretty. The styler itself is totally copper-coloured and comes with the same hair-saving technology (including claims of reducing hair breakage by 50% and increasing shine by 20%) whilst the options for wavy, curly, kinked or straight hairstyles are endless (have a look at my Instagram page @prettyuglypics for some of the styles I have created).

If I haven’t quite waxed lyrical enough about this collection, the endless photographic opportunities (I love a still-life shot) are the icing on the cake for me. Happy Christmas!
